Best Friends Forever

One of my teammates mentioned that her BFF was going to visit her for summer vacation. I had never heard of a BFF. It seems like an interesting idea, to have one friend that is so close that you want to be friends with them forever. Bears don’t have BFFs, generally speaking. Winnie the Pooh had his friend Christopher Robin, I suppose they could be considered BFFs. And Pastuso has his family in London. I wonder if he would consider them as BFFs. But I don’t think I have ever had a friend, other than my siblings. Bears don’t tend...

Doughnuts in South America

After learning about doughnuts, I took the recipe to my Grandma Masha. She likes to bake and seemed excited about trying a new recipe. She promised to let me know if she needed any special ingredients and would have the doughnuts ready for my next visit. A few days later Grandma Masha called me. She said things had gone well until she realized she had to put the dough into hot oil. She didn’t have anything to take the doughnuts out of the oil and had almost burned her hands. I recently found a large wooden spoon in Cloud Forest...

How Do You “Do Nothing?”

How Do You “Do Nothing?”

They replied, “Nothing.” I thought that perhaps I wasn’t translating from English to Bear very well, so I asked them again and I got the same answer. So I asked them, “How do you do nothing?” After some laughter, they acknowledged that it doesn’t really make sense to say you are doing nothing, because technically you are always doing something. But they explained to me that when you don’t have a plan for something specific or you are just staying home to rest or relax...
